Headteacher's Welcome

At East Rainton Primary School the staff are dedicated to providing a stimulating, exciting environment where everyone feels valued and safe. Everyone has the opportunity to reach their potential within a supportive learning environment.

We teach through a structured topic based curriculum with a strong focus on the skills within literacy and numeracy. We aim to develop an interest in learning as well as respect for others.

We have high expectations of all children enabling them to become excellent citizens in the future. It is through a supportive partnership approach that we can work with children and their families to achieve the best for every child.

At the Pavillion and Dairy Lane care centre

The choir had two great afternoons entertaining the residents of the Pavillion Care Centre and the Dairy Lane Care Centre.  They sang a range of Carols, some songs from productions they have performed and ended with a Rock Around the Shops performance.

Afterwards, the children were treat to a nice cold drink and a sweet treat for all their hard work!  They have been asked to return again and entertain the residents.

Water Safety

The school had a visit from the RNLI this week to teach us all about being safe arounds water. Some of us had the opportunity to dress up and hold the equipment that they might use.

Sunderland Illuminations

IMG0767The choir had an amazing time singing at the Sunderland Illuminations on Thursday 2nd November.  Although it was a cold night, it didn't stop the choir from singing some of their favourite songs and adding their own dance moves too.  They even enjoyed introducing the songs to the audience using the very loud microphone!  Thank you to all the relatives/friends who came and supported the choir-the children enjoyed having you there!

The events team from the illuminations were very impressed with the choir and donated each of them a small gift which they really liked.  Keep an eye out for our next events as we have a lot going on in November and December!

Sponsored Hoola-Hoop

On Friday 13th October, the whole school took part in a sponsored Hoola-Hoop event. Each class was given half an hour to do as much hoola hooping as possible. We were raising money for school funds.
